FOOT PRINTS

MY JOURNEY OF FAITH

One night a man had a dream. In it he was walking along a beach with the Lord. Across the sky flashed scenes from his life. For each scene he noticed two sets of foot prints in the sand, one belonging to him and the Lord. When the final scene of his life flashed before him, he looked back, at the footprints in the sand.

He noticed many times along the path of his life there was only one set of footprints, and realized that they came at the hardest and saddest times of his life. Bothered about this; he questioned the Lord, saying, ”Lord, you said that once I decided to follow you, you’d walk with me all the way.

But I have noticed that during the most difficult and burdensome times in life, there is only one set of footprints. I don’t understand why that when I needed you most you would leave me.

The Lord replied, ”My dear child, I would never leave you. During your times of trial and suffering, when you see only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you.

Autobiography in 5 Short Chapters

  1. I walk, down the street
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk
    I fall in.
    I am lost… I am hooeless.
    It isn’t my fault.
It takes forever to find a way out.
  2. I walk down the same street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
    I pretend I don’t see it.
    I fall in again.
I can’t believe I am in the same place.
    But it isn’t my fault.
It still takes a long time to get out.
  3. I walk down the same street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
    I see it is there.
    I still fall in… it’s a habit.
    My eyes are open.
    I I know where I am.
    It is my fault.
    I get out immediately.
  4. I walk down the the same street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
    I walk around it.
  5. I walk down another street.

More on Thoughts

Don’t let other people put thoughts in your head.

Respect the power of words and thoughts, both your own and others.

How easy is it to to be unaware of the process, to walk around with other people’s words in our head, taking them as truth, taking them as your own, letting their ideas about us control our lives and our beliefs.

“Words are powerful. Don’t let other people put them in your head. And choose carefully the words you speak to them.”

Learn to live with unfinished projects

Whatever your project is, or ”learning a lesson on your journey, learn to live comfortably with unfinished work.”

Whatever you’re working on, whatever you’re in the midst of doesn’t need to be finished, in perfect order, with all the loose ends in place” or tied together.

Enjoy all the stages of the process you’re in. The first moments when the germ of the idea finds you. The time before you begin, when the seed lies dormant in the ground, getting ready to grow.”
