To “Let Go” Takes Love

To let go does not mean to stop caring, it means I can’t do it for someone else.

To let go is not to cut myself off, it is the realization I can’t control another.

To let go is not to enable, but to allow learning from natural consequences.

To let go is to admit powerlessness, which means the outcome is not in my hands.

To let go is not to try to change or blame another, it is to make the most of myself.

To let go is not to care for, but to care about.

To let go is not to fix but to be supportive.

To let go is not to judge, but to allow another to be a human being.

To let go is not to be in the middle arranging all the outcomes but to allow others to affect their own destinies.

To let go is not to be protective, it is to permit another to face reality.

To let go is not to deny, but to accept.

To let go is not to nag, scold, or argue, but instead to search out my own shortcomings and to correct them.

To let go is not to adjust everything to my desires but to take each day as it comes, and to cherish myself in it.

To let go is not to criticize and regulate anybody but to try to become what I dream I can be.

To let go is not to regret the past, but to grow and live for the future.

To let go is to fear and to love more.

The Blessing of Forgiveness

Jesus’ heart, though broken for the sins of the world, bled forgiveness.
Forgiveness only requires that we let go and let God handle the heart of the one who committed the wrong (errored JMWP emphasis).
Blessing comes when we release the debt and are free from the weight and burden in our hearts.

Question:
How will you resolve any hurt or broken relationship in your life that needs forgiveness?

Request:
Lord, help me to forgive others with my heart as you have forgiven me.

Journey 2023

James 2:13

…mercy triumphs over judgement.

Mercy is the way of the cross. When we follow Jesus we see there is no other way to live like him unless we are choosing to continually live in love. That sounds easy, right? It is surely the more costly way. When we lay down our lives in love, we forgive instead of seeking revenge, we are kind to those who ridicule us, and we sacrifice our own comfort for the truth.

… That should bring us pause. Are we living with mercy as our covering, or are we keeping love at a distance by judging others continuously?

Romans 15:13
May the God of hope full you with all jioy and peace in believing, so that you will abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Joy is not a side effect of normal living at the pace we are living in this world. Peace is not a natural reaction to the chaos that is everywhere around us. These values are both cultivated and given through fellowship with God. The more time we spend in his presence, the more peace and joy become a part of the fabric of our beings. We learn what it is to walk in love with hope in our vision.
